Steps to create a recovery key for iPhone and iPad
Now proceed with the steps to create a recovery key to recover access to your Apple ID or your iPhone or iPad.
Step 1: First of all open your iPhone or iPad and navigate to the settings option.
Step 2: From there click or tap on your name and Apple ID profile picture available in the menu.
Step 3: On the Apple ID screen you will see “Password and security” settings click on that.
Step 4: Further you need to select the “Recovery Key” option from the menu options displayed on the screen.
Step 5: Now tap the toggle button next to the Recovery key to turn it on. As a result, a dialog box will appear on the screen to verify that you want to create the recovery key. The dialog box also has the warning that if you lost your recovery key you won’t be able to get back to your Apple ID or account.
Step 6: Click on the “use recovery key” option and a dialog box to enter the passcode of your device will appear.
Enter the passcode and click on the “Done” button. Your 28-character Apple ID will appear on the screen. You can make a note of it to keep it safe and use this key to recover your Apple ID when you lost access.
