How to disable Alexa on Ecobee Smart Thermostat

Ecobee comes with built-in Alexa functionality. It helps the users to control their Ecobee in a better way and also with the voice command they can play music, get a quick update, check weather, and more. Sometimes people don’t feel it’s necessary to have Alexa enabled all the time on the Ecobee. And it is hard to disable Alexa because it is an in-built function. But here we come with a couple of steps which may help you to get rid of this problem. So let us find out how to turn off Alexa on your Ecobee Smart Thermostat.

Steps to disable Alexa on Ecobee Smart Thermostat

Proceed with the steps in the same order for successfully disabling Alexa on your EcobeeL

Step 1: First of all download and launch the Ecobee Smart Thermostat application on your Android, iPhone, or Ipad device.

Step 2: Log in to your Ecobee account if necessary and then navigate to the Home screen of the Ecobee’s application.

Step 3: Now click on the “Thermostat” option available on the screen. It will take you to the Thermostat screen.

Step 4: Here you will find the “Microphone” icon on the bottom of the menu. You will reach the audio screen.

Step 5: At the Audio screen you will find the “Unlink Alexa” option. Click on the same and a dialog box will prompt on the screen with a warning that after you disable Alexa you will no longer control your device with voice control feature”. 

Step 6: Here click on the “Unlink” option and you will be redirected to the home screen of the application.

Once you complete these steps you will see now Alexa is not here to listen to your voice.
