How to use the picture in picture feature on the iPhone or iPad

With the launch of iOS 14 for iPhone in 2020, a new feature was introduced for both iPhone and iPad users that are “Picture in Picture” feature. This will allow the users to close an app in which the video is playing and its audio will keep playing while the app is minimized. Also during listening to the audio of the video you will be able to surf on the browser and can also use other applications. Usually, people use this picture in picture feature while face time. In this post, we will share the process to use the picture in picture function on your Apple device.

Steps to use Picture in Picture feature on iPhone and iPad

Proceed with the steps mentioned below to use the Picture in picture feature in your iPhone or iPad:

Step 1: First of all go to the home page of your iPhone or iPad.

Step 2: Now navigate to the “Settings” of the device and you will reach the settings option.

Step 3: Further you need to click on the “General” settings option that will display the options available in general settings.

Step 4: After that, you will see the “ Picture in picture” option on the screen. Click on the same. This will take you to a new menu section where you will see “Start PIP automatically”.

Step 5: You need to turn “Start PIP automatically” ON.

Now you can use the picture in picture option while face time or using other applications that support this feature like Amazon Prime Video or Netflix. You can also turn this feature off if you don’t want to use it. You can move the picture in the picture window anywhere on the screen as per your convenience.
